Beyond the Veil: A Journey Toward the Home God Promised

There are moments in life when Heaven feels impossibly far away—and moments when it feels close enough to touch.

For me, that nearness came in my living room, holding my wife Kat’s hand, as the woman I loved stepped into eternity. I didn’t set out to write a book about Heaven. I was simply trying to survive grief. But in that place of profound loss, Jesus met me with a tenderness I didn’t know a soul could carry—and slowly, gently, Heaven began to feel nearer than I had ever imagined.

Beyond the Veil was born out of that sacred season.

This book is not a theological argument or a speculative vision of the afterlife. It is a journey—told through poems, reflections, Scripture, and story—of love that outlived breath, grief that did not drown faith, and hope that quietly endured. It explores the thinness of the veil between earth and eternity, and the way God walks with us in the space between goodbye and reunion.

The opening chapters begin with our love story and the holy ache of loss, but they do not remain there. They widen into something many of us are carrying—questions about Heaven, longing for reunion, and the deep desire to believe that death is not the end of the story.

If you are grieving, you are not alone here.
If you are searching, you are welcome here.
If you are longing for Home, you are already closer than you think.

Today, I’m sharing the first two chapters of Beyond the Veil as a gift. These chapters include the introduction to the journey and the opening reflections that set the tone for what follows. My prayer is that they meet you gently, wherever you are, and remind you that the Shepherd walks beside you—step by step—toward the Home He has promised.

Thank you for walking this road with me. If these pages speak to your heart, I’d be honored if you shared them with someone who may be carrying grief quietly. Heaven is nearer than we think—and love never ends.

Grace and peace,
