My journey began with images: illustrations, design, and watercolor. I was a visual storyteller, finding meaning in the stroke of a brush and the play of light and shadow. But when my wife, Kat, passed away, everything stopped. The canvas went blank. The colors faded. And for a time, so did my passion to create.

In that silence, God did something unexpected.

I began to write—not to replace the art, but to carry what the brush could no longer hold. Each word became a brushstroke. Each chapter, a new layer of healing. What began as a way to survive grief became a calling to help others do the same.

Paint 2 Words is my creative home, where visual art and storytelling meet. It’s a place to share the stories birthed through pain, shaped by faith, and colored with the hope of redemption.

This site exists to promote my work as both an author and illustrator, starting with my two books:

  • Warning Signs: A Journey of Faith in a Dangerous World and
  • Treasures in the Darkness: A Novel of Hope, Healing, and Redemption.

Each project combines deeply personal storytelling with original illustrations, designed to speak to the heart.

But more than a portfolio, this site is a platform—for connection, encouragement, and a growing community of readers and fellow travelers.

Here, I’ll share new books, behind-the-scenes artwork, updates, reflections, and resources for the road ahead.
If your heart has ever been broken, if you’ve ever longed for beauty in the ashes, you’re in the right place.
